How To Make An Ideal Resume: Three Components of Ideal Resume Writing

Three Components of the Ideal Resume Writing:  Over the last 35 years, I’ve reviewed thousands of professional resumes. We regularly review resumes from candidates and decide which of these candidates will go forward in the selection process for our client companies.

Efficiency in Resume Screening

You should also know that most hiring managers use parsing software to filter out most of the resumes they receive. Once selected resumes are available, they are quickly reviewed for eligibility (approximately 30 seconds) and then forwarded for further review. When you receive hundreds of resumes for a job posting, you can imagine why we need to be efficient and selective when advancing candidates through the selection process. However, as a job seeker, you don’t have a lot of time to share irrelevant information on your resume because you’ll lose the hiring manager’s attention. Three Components of the Ideal Resume get the most attention from hiring managers. It should have above-the-fold content, a value proposition statement, and include specific keywords. In other words, these are job posting-related words.

Optimal Resume Length and Preparation

We know some resumes are one page and we’ve seen 6-page resumes [CV] For MD/Ph.D or higher management professionals. However, I still find that the most popular length for a resume is two pages. Please keep in mind that the sole purpose of your resume is to attract the attention of the hiring manager and provide a face-to-face interview. So whether you decide to prepare your CV or use a consultant to prepare your CV, it is entirely up to you. With the ability to search the web for resume templates, you’ll find that the tips I’ve provided you will be equally helpful and cost-effective to help you write your resume and save you hundreds of dollars.

Top of the Fold

When the information is placed at the top of the screen, it first appears when the employer loads the page on their computer. In the case of a printed resume [8.5×11], the most important parts of your resume are printed on the top half of the front page of your resume.

Content layout and placement are important because above-the-fold content is what appears first when the user loads the page… due to its high visibility, the content you place above-the-fold should be the skills and attributes most sought after that is relevant to the job.

Value Proposition Statement

Value Proposition Statements are an important component of your resume. It lets the hiring manager know the immediate value you will bring to the job when hired. When writing your value proposition statement, you must build it to paint a picture of the value you will bring to the company. We believe that a value proposition statement should be no longer than five lines. With this in mind, you should spend time developing an effective value proposition statement. Key points to keep in mind as you develop your value proposition statement:
Identify all the benefits your skills and qualifications offer.
Explain what makes your skills and qualifications valuable to the client.
Tap into employers’ main challenge [wants] which should be listed in the job description.
Connect the value you bring by job description.
Other candidates are also applying for this position. You will need to differentiate yourself as the preferred candidate for this job.

Your value proposition statement should explain: How your skills and qualifications will add value to the employer, what benefits the employer can expect, and why the company should hire you for the position.

Keywords should be words or short phrases related to the job requirements. These are the skills, abilities, references, and qualifications a hiring manager looks for in a candidate. Take some time and read the entire job description to identify keywords that are important to the function of the job. You should then take these keywords and include them in your resume. You’ll soon be comfortable using these keywords in a conversational style that conveys your key strengths for the position.

As you can see, it will take some thought to rank these three components. Your resume will need to represent you effectively until you have the opportunity to meet face-to-face. But I know that with a little thought, editing, and looking for ways to keep the content relevant, you will have an effective professional resume.
